Booking and Payment

Bookings:

  • All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email confirmation)
  • A deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking
  • Final payment is due 48 hours before tour commencement
  • Group bookings (6+ people) may have special terms

Payment Methods:

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Bank transfer (New Zealand banks)
  • PayPal (international guests)
  • Cash payments accepted for walk-in bookings (subject to availability)

Pricing:

  • All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST
  • Prices are per person unless otherwise stated
  • Child rates apply to ages 5-15 years
  • Infants under 5 years are free (limited activities)

Cancellation and Refunds

Client Cancellations:

  • More than 48 hours: Full refund minus 10% administration fee
  • 24-48 hours: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours: No refund
  • No-shows: No refund

Operator Cancellations:

  • Weather or safety concerns: Full refund or reschedule
  • Insufficient bookings: Full refund with 24 hours notice
  • Force majeure events: Credit note or refund (less any unrecoverable costs)

Tour Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify tour itineraries due to weather, safety, or cultural considerations
  • Substitute activities of equal or greater value
  • Change tour times with reasonable notice
  • Combine tours if numbers are low

Photography and Privacy

  • Photos may be taken during tours for promotional purposes
  • Participants can opt-out of photography by notifying guides
  • Personal photography must respect cultural protocols
  • Commercial filming requires prior arrangement and fees

Limitation of Liability

Far North X Tours’ liability is limited to:

  • The cost of the tour booked
  • Coverage provided by our public liability insurance
  • We recommend comprehensive travel insurance for all participants
  • Participants engage in activities at their own risk

Intellectual Property

All tour content, including:

  • Cultural stories and information shared
  • Route planning and itineraries
  • Written materials and maps
  • Are the intellectual property of Far North X Tours and our cultural partners

Disputes Resolution

Any disputes will be:

  • First addressed through direct communication
  • Referred to mediation if required
  • Subject to New Zealand law and jurisdiction
  • Handled with respect for tikanga Māori principles where appropriate
